Delusion

There was a time when your smiles peered over awakened dreams

And your whispered hello tickled laughing heartstrings
And as time passed by us both, unawares,
those smiles faded apathy into disdainful stares
And muttered,
....I never knew....
But thought 'twas, Once,
Then miles crossed shadowed valleys
to new smiling side long glances
willing away lonesome crowded nights
sharing *each* shattered* hoping* eyes*
Grey, not blue,
while falling rose petals turned to daisies, wild,
for lovers poor tastes clashing similarities
And again,
Answered phone calls, breathed relief
at the Voices Calm on the other line
Perhaps this other
Misunderstood
may just prove
that East is West
Tall is Short
One is not one,
Never two
only none.
but they that fear to see
And we
two spectrums, complete
And yet
Never Connect
Such clarity clashes with delusions grandeur

Take the lies, my love,
any day
Some truths are best left to ashes
