Mindless Chatter

i have come to the startling revelation that most of the anxiety people feel is caused by the fact that they take everything much much too personally. if they ever stopped to realize that most everything people do is not in the slightest related to their existence, in fact, more often than naught tis done without even acknowledgement of their very presence, they might find themselves laughing more heartily and growling and whining less.

i've a friend, if that word even describes the relationship accurately, which I'm certain it doesn't, who is most harshly honest, to the point of mere insult but i find him remarkably refreshing. most people have no gumption to speak their mind or opinions censor free and tis a rare gift to meet someone who is offensively genuine. we should all be a bit more honest with each other. people wouldn't know what to think.

i also love how Wilde mentions that we should not speak of horrid things. speaking of them makes them real. tis also a somewhat scripture based idea, meditating on whatever is noble, whatever is true, and then peace will be with you. what if we all quit dwelling and speaking on the things that upset us? perhaps they might just all slip away from our minds and we'd be free to laugh at our own absurdity and stupidity. or at least meditate on silence for awhile. i think silence is underrated.
